Bring Gloves And Expect To Get Dirty
We operate Refarm Sanctuary for the love of animals. We will do so regardless of what contributions or help we get. Yet, your support allows us to expand care to more animals in need.
Typical volunteer activities include mucking barns and coops, raking, and pasture cleaning. Many of the animals will come visit you while you complete your tasks but please remember that some tasks might not include much animal interaction. Volunteering is physically intensive, so expect to get a good workout!
Volunteer hours are every Saturday from 10 am-2:00 pm. We respectfully request a minimum commitment of 2 hours. Our volunteer orientation begins promptly at 10:00 am to go over safety rules and assign tasks for the day, so please arrive a few minutes early so we can get started on time. If you miss the orientation, you may not be able to volunteer. If a situation arises where you will be arriving late or need to cancel last minute, please email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible.
For safety and liability purposes, all volunteers must be at least 14 years of age, no exceptions. Volunteers who are ages 14 or 15 will need parent/guardian supervision for the duration of the day.
If you have any special needs or service animals, please contact us directly at email@example.com so we can plan volunteer activities for you ahead of time.
Bring clothes & boots that are weatherproof and that you don’t mind getting muddy. Bring work gloves if you have them. Check the weather forecast for zip code 98671 and dress appropriately. Rugged boots (not sneakers) are a must and don’t forget sunglasses and sunscreen in the summertime. We encourage you to pack a brown bag lunch — no meat or dairy please, out of respect for the animals.
Just Want To Visit
