Ollie would have been veal were it not for an infection in his joints that made him ineligible for human consumption. For 18 months he was left to fend for himself. Too strong to die. Too weak to get better. He's in better place now. Come hang with him. He loves to cuddle.
Ruby is our guard llama. Anytime there is the slightest sign of danger, Ruby makes her warning calls. Within seconds, ever other animal gathers around her and stares in the exact same direction she does. She's getting older and will remain at Refarm to live out the rest of her life.
Kai is one of 7 bison that call Refarm home. This is him shortly after he arrived. Emancipated after years of neglect. He and the rest of the herd are doing much better now. He is the biggest of the bunch and quite intimidating. Not huggable but definitely admireable.
Volunteer hours are every Saturday from 10 am-2 pm. Typical volunteer activities include mucking barns and coops, raking, and pasture cleaning. Volunteering is physically intensive, so expect to get a good workout!
We operate Refarm Sanctuary for the love of animals. We will do so regardless of what contributions or help we get. Yet, your support allows us to expand care to more animals in need. All donations are matched by an anonymous donor.
